Mars500 Mission – Documentary (ZDF)

The Mars500 Mission – was a psychosocial isolation experiment conducted between 2007 and 2011 by Russia, the European Space Agency and China in preparation for future manned spaceflight to the planet Mars.

Germany’s largest public broadcasting company ZDF hired 3d-io to craft over 2 minutes of high quality, 3D animated video showing what the colonization of Mars could look like and how it could be realized.

Space travel has always been a point of interest for us and this project just hit the nerve, and we are very proud of our contribution.
