Garnisons Church (Garnisonskirche Potsdam) CG Video Project was one of our most interesting exeriences in this year. As Mr Bernd Hofmann from Upstart New Media came with the project to us, it sounded more like the architectural vizualisation. Yet, since the chruch was destroyed 50 years ago, and there were nothing more left save few small images and plans, it sounded like an investigation work: how to create an impressive video of a non existing chruch and draw attention of the public to the ongoing project of it rebuilding.
We have called this 3D Project "What if it would...?" - imagine the church is now, in 2009 in the middle of Potsdam near Berlin and just imagine how this marvelous building would look like today. The project is also a part of the current camapign to mobilise inhabitants and potential investors to initiate the rebuilding of the chruch.
The complete 3 minutes video was done in a tight cooperatation with Upstart New Media, which took care of organizing the work and building parts of the 3D geometry. The complete HDTV movie was executed in 3 Weeks, using Autodesk 3DSMax and FinalRender.
